From the South
The Summer Season is just about over. September will probably mark the last time this year for the White Dinner Jackets for the officers. The Officers Association meetings turn their attention to the upcoming Grand Lodge Annual Communication where we will vote on new GL officers and potential amendments to the California Masonic Code. This will be happening on September 24th ,25th and 26th. Tickets to the various events and activities are still available, and for rooms in San Francisco as well. Don't forget there are also events specifically for the Ladies and the various dinners and the Grand Masters event on Sunday the 24th as well.
August was a quieter month for the Officers, only one Degree in the Month, but we also Passed our 3rd Degree proficiency as well. We are now in the practice mode for the First Degree Proficiency, which could well be completed in September.
We will install Robert Klute as the Senior Deacon for the Lodge for 2010 at the September Stated Meeting.
Brethren, the Officers would appreciate a little more attendance at the Degree Ceremonies. Especially for the 3rd degree Raising, we still did not have enough members on the side lines to fill all of the slots for the Marchers. I am sure most of you can remember your raising and it is quite a stirring moment be told by the Wor. Master that you can finally "Be Seated Among the Brethren", even more so when there are a lot of them present in the Lodge Room.
